Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded the

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary
Certificate of Accomplishment

and the
PA Fish & Boat Commission
Boating Safety Certificate.

This program fulfills the January 1, 2000 requirements for personal water craft operators.

Classes are FREE, however, there is a $35 fee for materials.

 

Courses at
Harrisburg Area Community College
(HACC)

Fall semester 2007
"Introduction to Coastal Piloting (Navigation)"

8-hour course. It will include the BS&S chapters on the Aids to Navigation System, Navigation Rules and Coastal Piloting.

This is NOT a state certificate course.

US Coast Guard Auxiliary

Spring semester 2006
"Boating Safely"

8-hour course, targeted to PWC operators and those whose age requires them to earn a state safe boating certificate to operate power boats on Pennsylvania waters.

This IS a state certificate course.
